We partner with high-need elementary schools to engage youth in a safe and supportive afterschool program.
We utilize soccer, poetry and service-learning as tools to encourage holistic, positive youth development. Teachers serve as our soccer and writing coaches, building stronger student-teacher relationships beyond the school day. The SCORES program is free to students and their families, and we provide transportation, healthy snacks, and all necessary supplies to eliminate barriers to participation.

A Three-Step Approach
We engage youth and create teams through the sport of soccer.
Soccer is the world's most popular and accessible sport, transcending language, country of origin and socioeconomic status. Fun on the field encourages students to be physically active, while also providing opportunities for social engagement and connection. |
We bring teams into the classroom to discover their voice through poetry.
Poetry gives students an opportunity to experiment with language, learn how to creatively express themselves and share their stories with the world. Through fun and engaging workshops, students build confidence while strengthening their reading and writing skills. |
Teams learn to use their voice to impact positive change in their community.
Students learn how to critically analyze challenging community issues and identify thoughtful ways to take action. Students develop important leadership and problem-solving skills and are empowered to become true agents of change in their community. |
